Philipo is a Tanzanian married father of 3 children. Originally from Butiama Musoma, he grew up near the Serengeti National Park. As a child, he developed an interest in nature and wild animals that would guide him in his professional career.
He began his career as a porter for expeditions on Kilimanjaro before becoming a guide. In 2009, he obtained his diploma as a high mountain guide. A few years later, he specialized in safaris by collaborating with recognized companies in Tanzania.
In 2016, with this experience, Philipo founded Kimgoni Tanzania Safaris. That same year, he met Thierry Meyer, introduced by Anne Montagnon. Sharing common human values, Thierry supports him in the acquisition of his first all-terrain vehicles and the development of his business, with particular attention paid to quality, project customization and moral integrity.
I am French, and my friendship with Philipo goes back about ten years. At the time, he was my guide during my first trip to Tanzania, a country whose richness and beauty he helped me discover. Since then, a beautiful bond has been born between us, nourished by our cultural differences and our shared experiences. Today, as he likes to say, I am his “partner”.
